Latest report on his site Sonny Bill Williams
Sonny Bill Williams quits NRL and leaves Bulldogs for France
Star NRL and Bulldogs backrower Sonny Bill Williams has reportedly walked away and quit the Bulldogs and the National Rugby League in the past 48 hours.
Information on Sonny Bill Williams quitting the game is still sketchy, but insiders believe that SBW may have already left the country. (Australia) And could be heading for France to Rugby Union in Toulouse.
The situation should no doubt bring legal action from the Bulldogs and/or the NRL should the speculation prove to be true.
This departure of Sonny Bill and his ultimately quitting the Bulldogs and NRL may have been dealt a final blow with the most recent Bulldogs blow up involving close friends Reni Maitua, Lee Ta Maari and Ben Roberts.
More news on the Sonny Bill Williams quits NRL and Bulldogs situation soon.
The most immediate concern for the Bulldogs will be more poor NRL Results in 2008 as they continue to fight the North Queensland Cowboys for the wooden spoon.
wow...wonder if he will come to the force...hmmmmm
BOKKE“Let me put it this way, A Springbok team contains Afrikaners, Englishmen, coloureds and blacks. It has parochial foes in Bulls, Sharks, Stormers, Cheetahs and Lions. It is a recipe for war! Yet in all the years of John Smit’s captaincy, there has never been one unhappy customer, not one voice of rebellion against his leadership. He is the glue that holds the Springboks together. The man is a legend!”- Jake White
he will undoubtedly be leaving Australia, he would get to much media attention if he stayed and there would be massive leagal issues as well
awesome. Sonny Bill would be the most amazing centre i reckon. If only he could learn to use his arms in his trademark tackle.
yeah..with all the money they haveYeah firepower could pay for him to come here

It's now official!!!. He has signed with second division side Toulon in France, the club that Gregan and Matfield went to coached by Tana Umaga. $3 million for two years, can't blame him for going. Jerry Collins also signed to go there a few weeks ago. I thought they had been promoted to first division but can't remember where I read that.
Where does Toulon get all the money from?
They seem to be forking out a lot of money for good players and converting a number of league players at the same time.
He's on $450 000 a year now, I would suspect Toulon will pay off the Bulldogs as well.
As for the can't blame him comment, I would think after Mason left the Bulldogs for the Roosters after telling SBW that club loyalty is the most important thing that he feels a little jaded. $1.5 million a year over $450 000 is just maths.
The Bulldogs have stated on several occasions that he is a "required" player, so if cash settlement is on the cards Toulon will be paying through the nose.
Just because someone else leaves a club doesnt mean that he should chuck the shits and up stumps as well. No loyalty here either
