DAN Carter makes people shake. Put a group of fans in front of the All Blacks whiz and the trembling starts.
Cameras wobble out of focus, autograph pens get fumbled, women flutter eyebrows and babies get thrust awkwardly forward for some kind of All Black blessing.
And, apart from the swooning perhaps, Carter's opponents react similarly.
Such is the ominous threat of the world's highest-paid rugby star, rivals routinely stumble. Basic skills and defences falter, and Carter exposes them. Where Carter goes, nerves get frayed.
