Rugby-Eight countries bid to host 2015 and 2019 World Cups
LONDON, Oct 1 (Reuters) - A record number of eight countries are bidding to host the 2015 World Cup, the International Rugby Board (IRB) said on Wednesday.
The eight nations confirming their intention to tender for the 2015 tournament were: Australia, England, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Scotland, South Africa and Wales.
Australia, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Russia, Scotland, South Africa and Wales have also made bids for the 2019 event, following Tuesday's deadline.
Jamaica's unlikely bid was withdrawn.
"This strong response is unprecedented and truly reflects the global attraction of the rugby World Cup," IRB chairman Bernard Lapasset said in a statement.
"It also reflects the significant economic benefits that accompany the hosting of a tournament that has grown in stature and prominence as a global event."

Japan for 2015 and Australia for 2019

I reckon they should alternate between Northern and Southern Hemisphere...
2003=Australia (S)
2007=France (N)
2011=New Zealand (S)
2015=Japan (N)
2019=South Africa (S)
Last year the world cup was in Europe so I think that Scotland, Ireland and Wales can wait for a bit, especailly Wales, they hosted games there last year. Which leaves Japan, Russia or Italy and I think Japan would benefit the most and have the financial backing to host a world cup.
Then South Africa for 2019 because I have never been there and its the only Southern Hemisphere option apart from Australia, but we had it in 2003. I'd like to see Argentina have a chance at hosting it too, maybe if its played in South Africa, Argentina could get a few games, its quite the trip across the South Atlantic, but I think it would be great for Argentina's rugby. If Argentina couldn't share it, I'd be happy with just South Africa and Argentina later down the track.
Seeing as these things usually go Europe, someone else, Europe, someone else .......
i'm going : Italy 2015
Japan 2019
Scotland/Ireland 2023
Argentina 2027
i think:
japan 2015
saffaland: 2019 (good god ill be 26!!)
then the year id like wales and another european country to share itaregentina should get one soon
A kick in this game is like a rather nasty alcoholic shooter, only as good as it's chaser...

I just think someone else should host it instead of it being a country who's already hosted it. UKs have had it twice (2007 co host with France), NZ have had it twice (87 co host with Aus), France has had it, Aus has had it twice (87 co host with NZ) and South Africa once. Plus theres other South American countries who play rugby Chile and Uruguay for starters. Uruguay were in the 2003 RWC from memory. Plus like Italy and Japan, Argentina has stadia already. If the IRB are seriously ambitious maybe for 2023 Canada and US could co host.
soccer took off big time in the US after they hosted the 1994 World Cup according to alot of stuff i have read. Who says the same cant happen for Rugby?

Would love another in Australia but I have gone for Japan (should have got 2011 anyway) and Italy (but as the base for Romania and Georgia Pools).
