This tour was unlike previous tours gone by.
Labelled WA's best ever state 16's side the pressure was on straight from the begining.
We began our journey towards the national championships wen we touched down canberra airport 10pm local time. Checked into our budget accomodation for the night and tryed to get rest before our trial game against ACT.
TRIAL GAME V ACT
Team: 1 Sam Smith 2 Nick Corsbie 3 Oli Hoskins 4 Lachie Valentine 5 Bryan Lush 6 Hayden Croghan 7 Nathan Oakley 8 Manasseh Gudgeon 9 Shaun Baker 10 Kyle Godwin 11 Jordan Simi 12 Jerome Rameka 13 Jordan Smith 14 Jack Dawson 15 Curtis Rona 16 Tristan Ashford 17 Todd Wilcox 18 Chris Johnson 19 James Eliaschewsky 20 Liam Burley 21 Sean Taggart 22 Stephan Blair 23 Lachie Burges
Result: ACT 25 def WA 8
Scorers: Tristan Ashford try; Kyle Godwin penalty
We played for only the second as a team although the scoreline didnt reflect the game we were still positive, if we had came across ACT at nationals we would be able to knock up a win.

Game 1 v Sydney Juniors
This was a team that we had played the previous year and drawn.
The game started. First 5minutes WA scores. Perfectly executed lineout backine move offload and score untouched. 7-0
Sadly this was the only highlight of the game, from that game on sydney juniors dominated everything. We as a team were intimidated by the size of the juniors and held off tackles etc... which gave us no chance in securing a top 4 placing.
Team: 1 Todd Willcox 2 Tristan Ashford 3 Oli Hoskins 4 Lachie Valentine 5 James Eliaschewsky 6 Hayden Croghan 7 Nathan Oakley 8 Manasseh Gudgeon 9 Shaun Baker 10 Kyle Godwin 11 Jack Dawson 12 Jerome Rameka 13 Jordan Smith 14 Jordan Simi 15 Curtis Rona 16 Nick Corsbie 17 Sam Smith 18 Chris Johnson 19 Bryan Lush 20 Liam Burley 21 Sean Taggart 22 Stephen Blair 23 Lachie Burges
Result: Sydney Juniors 22 def WA 7
Scorers: Kyle Godwin try; Jack Dawson conversion

Game 2 v Brumbies
Team: 1 Todd Willcox 2 Tristan Ashford 3 Oli Hoskins 4 Lachie Valentine 5 James Eliaschewsky 6 Manasseh Gudgeon 7 Liam Burley 8 Nathan Oakley 9 Shaun Baker 10 Kyle Godwin 11 Lachlan Burges 12 Jack Dawson 13 Jordan Smith 14 Jordan Simi 15 Curtis Rona 16 Nick Corsbie 17 Sam Smith 18 Chris Johnson 19 Bryan Lush 20 Jerome Rameka 21 Sean Taggart 22 Stephen Blair inj Hayden Croghan
WA dominated ever section of the game just failed to cross the line. Brumbies didnt win the game WA lost it with undiscipline. Tourning point when a duboius yellow card was given to WA playmaker flyhalf Kyle Godwin for a late hit the ball landed 20m directly in front, they slot it. In replay clearly wasnt but hey, thats rugby. Hardest game i have ever had to watch.
final score 6-3
penalty - Jack Dawson (1/2)
Game 3 v Prictoria
WA came up against West Auckland in the final game. Only 3 players in the side that werent polynesian.
Result: WA 13 def Vic 12
Scorers: Lachie Valentine try; Kyle Godwin 1 con, 2 pens
Team: 1 Todd Willcox 2 Tristan Ashford 3 Oli Hoskins 4 Lachie Valentine 5 James Eliaschewsky 6 Manasseh Gudgeon 7 Liam Burley 8 Nathan Oakley 9 Shaun Baker 10 Kyle Godwin 11 Jordan Simi 12 Jordan Smith 13 Jack Dawson 14 Lachie Burges 15 Curtis Rona 16 Nick Corsbie 17 Sam Smith 18 Chris Johnson 19 Bryan Lush 20 Hayden Croghan 21 Sean Taggart 22 Jerome Rameka 23 Stephen Blair
Once again WA dominated every section of the game. Some dubious yellow cards by the ref didnt help WA cause but by this part of the tournement we had come to live with the fact that no one likes WA. To the boys credit we won but we should have buried the VICS.
After showing so much promise WA finishes 7th but could have quite easily picked up 3rd. But when we only score 2 trys in the championships you cant expect to win many.
