BOKKE“Let me put it this way, A Springbok team contains Afrikaners, Englishmen, coloureds and blacks. It has parochial foes in Bulls, Sharks, Stormers, Cheetahs and Lions. It is a recipe for war! Yet in all the years of John Smit’s captaincy, there has never been one unhappy customer, not one voice of rebellion against his leadership. He is the glue that holds the Springboks together. The man is a legend!”- Jake White

i have no gripes against Mclean for taking up the chance to play international rugby, he was pretty much ignored in Australia so he went over there to play club rugby. He liked it that much and he played so well they offered him for the Italian national side.
It just pisses me off that young good players like this have to go overseas to get really recognised, he should have being playing in Australia and possibly for Australia.
mmmmmmm jury's out on the FOR Australia thing, let's see how he stacks up against the Wallabies before we make that call. As for bagging him for taking up the opportunity, I wasn't doing that so much as bagging the Italians for having the world's best long-lost-Italian-grandmother finding bureau.
Good luck to him, if he couldn't get a decent contract in Oz and manages to take the field for the Eyeties more power!

Er.... I don't see too many Yagans in the Australian side.
Actually, australia has more "ethnic" foreigners in its test team than Italy, indeed probably more than most other countries as well.
That's not a bad thing, but a country that boasts ethnic Italians amongst its heroes, such as Eales, Carrozza, Campese and Wilson amongst several others, should be a little more tolerant of Italy's only ever Australian born (part Italian) test player.
Im sure Yagan would play if they could re-attach his head
