Awesome! Thank God the ARU had the foresight to create a domestic Rugby competition that just needs televising and a bit of money - oh, wait, whoops....
hopefully they will pick up the Super14 matches again, they obviously arent allowed to show them live, but even being on delay is better then not being shown at all
Yep, the cities should love that extra coverage...![]()

Will be good if you like sport from overseas. Can't see this benefitting local sports much. They still aren't allowed to show Wallabies, AFL, State of Origin etc...before it is on the main channel.
In terms of replays and delayed matches it could be good though, i would really hope that they show the S14 matches on this channel even though they cant be played until a few hours after it is show live on foxsports.
I remember hearing a rumour a few months ago that Ch10 were looking at televising S14 matches the following day. I guess it fell through at the time but it may be on the cards for the new channel.
There was no mention of Super Rugby coverage. The S14 broadcast contracts come up in 2010 (I think)...Perhaps they will pick up something. It would be good if the Super 14 was broadcast to regional areas also. Fox have locked up rugby in this country for to long now...
thing is no broadcaster is going to pay as much as foxtel for the Super14, the main reason is the target demographic of rugby union.
It is a private school game and is generally associated with the medium to upper class portion of the population, which is also the group of people who are more likely to purchase foxtel.
I do believe that they should at least push for 1 Australian match live FTA every weekend.
Fox might buy live rights or rights for 2 days then want to pay a cheaper rate to SANZAR...
