I reckon he'll make a top coach and if he decides to call it quits after 2011 then that's his decsion but in the mean time what a fantastic asset he is and I do hope he makes it to the Wallabies job one day, he has definately worked for it.

Absolutely, he has signed to 2011 and we need to make the best of his expertise, no players in any franchise that I am aware of have been signed to 2012, so there nothing wrong with him planning to be with the Force until then and just saying that he would like to see himself going up a level at that stage if the opportunity arises

My gut feel with nothing to base it on (much like others around here...), Mitch will sign for one more extension and take over from Aussie Rob after RWC in 2015.

Australia will win the next three World Cups ('11, '15 & '19) before New Zealand finally break the hoodoo under Aussie Rob in 2023.

Every Coach or player has to have one eye on their next job, and when his current contract expires in 2011 he will have been at the Force for 7 years.

I would hardly see that as a lack of commitment

My understanding was that he has a clause specifically for the Wallabies, but no-one else. My recollection is that he extended his contract to 2011 specifically to take himself out of the normal rumour-go-round for every international position leading into the next RWC.

There will be jobs a plenty after the next RWC. Lets see in terms of departures from 2007... Ireland got a new coach soon after, as did Australia, New Zealand should've, France did, England did not long after, Wales did, not sure about Italy, Argentina did, South Africa did. Pretty much the only major nations who didn't were NZ and Scotland and frankly Scotland.
