Nice to see you back Tic....missed the other half of the "clock brothers"

I agree don't build it in Sydney, its too expensive. The Tahs now have great facilities, which they share with other codes at the SFS & SCG...
I just thought it ways always silly to set up a national training venue in such a sweltering humid climate, which the Wallabies will seldom play in…
I think it should be spread around and use the AIS in canberra. All the experts are there the ARU just need to book in. Other wise have the Wallabies travel and train around the country to meet the fans coast to coast and build a great fan base. Junior nationals can train in many locations and should to get to know each OZ super 14 province for professional development...
yeah...and the Tahs would only make it a loss making enterprise.
I have to agree with tic on his comments regarding the economical capabilities of NSW to build and maintain new facilities, and as the mudman points out, they already have first class facilities which they share...
The AIS is already established for this type of venture so that too makes sense, but after saying all that i would still like to see ballymore developed as it can only enhance another venue and it will cater to a broad spectrum of sports as well...
Now, if only WA could find some funds in thier record breaking surplus for a small little 35,000 seat stadium....
Proudly bought to you by a brewery somewhere....

where is Ballymore anyway? When I was in Brisbane earlier this year I was wondering
Looks like it could be great for Queensland sport, the AIS is there for any National academy though
Ballymore
Its about 5km North from the CBD, in regards to the AIS, the AIS only targets the 15-18 age group and also the 7's side, its the same as other professional Australian sports(soccer, afl, league), they only support the junior development.
At least with this academy, if it gets built it will be able to support players in the age groups after that as well, regardless, it isnt the Australian Rugby Academy anymore, it is now a Brisbane Sports academy for various other sports.
the development application has been approved by the Brisbane City Coucil

Could be going to the courts though from what I've read.
phh, NIMBY's will attempt to argue any development application, fortunately the BCC doesnt often back down from planning decisions.
