Well it's not Tri Nations but maybe we'll gain some credit points towards scoring a Bledisloe match soon in the expanded format?!
From the ARU website:
The Qantas Wallabies will play Ireland at Subiaco Oval in Perth on 24 June as part of the 2006 Bundaberg Rum Rugby Series.
The Test match was confirmed today by the Australian Rugby Union, allowing Rugby fans in Western Australia to lock in the final date for the biggest Rugby year the state has ever seen.
The Western Force will kick off their Tooheys New Super 14 campaign on 10 February and play a total of six home matches at Subiaco Oval, with the Wallabies taking on Ireland a month after the Super 14 Final.
Last year the big Perth crowd set a new ground record for any event at Subiaco Oval when South Africa, inspired by two long range tries from flying winger Bryan Habana, held off the Wallabies by 22-19 in a thrilling match.
Subiaco Oval has a history of providing cliff-hanging Test matches, and with Ireland keen to avenge their 30-14 loss in Dublin last month and get their hands back on the Lansdowne Cup, it is set to be another classic showdown.
Tickets will not go on sale until May next year, although anyone interested in Corporate Hospitality can call the ARU on (02) 9956 3444 or email hospitality@rugby.com.au.
