    Irish Connection

For the second time,a northern hemisphere ref has taken charge of a Tri Nations/ Bledisloe fixture. Even though he had trouble with the pace of the game, it surely is a positive step forward. He made blues on both sides, but he was at least consistent?

Chuck Norris has the greatest Poker-Face of all time. He won the 1983 World Series of Poker, despite holding only a Joker, a Get out of Jail Free Monopoly card, a 2 of clubs, 7 of spades and a green #4 card from the game Uno.

I don't know about good, but he was at least consistent in his interpretations. I'm glad to see some NH refs in the TN, and hope there will be more both this year and next - no better way to get used to the interpretaions prior to the RWC.

Just as long as it means SH refs (namely Kaplan) get to officiate in the 6 Nations more....as far as I recall, the Scots have never won a match when he's been the ref.

to be fair to Kaplan (and it hurts me a lot to be so), Scotland haven't really won much of anything recently, so to have not won under him doens't really suprise me..

All Six Nations, Tri-Nations, Churchill Cup, World Cups , Nthn/Sthn Hemisphere Tours, Lions Tours etc have for at least the last 15 years been allocated by the IRB Referees Committee. Since the 60's we have have neutral referees but they were appointed from each hemisphere. Kaplan, Watson, Henning & Turner have all done Six National games.
