"GREG "HUEY" HARRIS, the head honcho at the Western Force, knows a lot about life's many challenges.
After all, Harris, a former representative forward, has tussled with Steve Finnane on the rugby field, played first-grade rugby league and AFL, been the Sydney Swans' chairman of selectors and chaired the NRL education and welfare committee. As the executive director of Sydney University Sport, Harris fought a constant battle with government figures over legislation to abolish universal membership of student organisations.
But that was almost minor league stuff compared to last year, when Harris took over as the Force's chief executive officer and walked into a minefield. Harris soon discovered he had taken on the mind-sapping task of cleaning up the almighty mess left behind by the previous administration. The Force's deep links with doomed company Firepower led to gloom among the players.
Many were owed large amounts of money. Hovering above the Force like a bad smell was the issue of third-party deals. There was unease among players and team management with coach John Mitchell, who was under attack for being too disrespectful in his approach."
etc etc....
Spotted this in there too:
"Overall, a pretty dreadful scenario, prompting mutterings in the corridors of power that the Force may be on their last legs."
Finishes with: "We can only wish Harris every success as he undertakes this critical renovation. The stakes are so high." hmmm....

And the whole world is going to fall in to a black whole tomorrow, thanks for another cheery outlook SMH.
We may be on our last legs but we have more signed up supporters than the other 3 clubs? okay...

the sooner everybody realises this is most truthful to come from that scribe the better
that was meant to read truthful article .Greg Harris is the strong man needed to sort out the mess he inherited , with out to much interfearance from directors etc. hopefully john oneil & the ARU will moniter things & not let the be decimated
The previous administration is still there, just the CEO has changed...almighty mess left behind by the previous administration.
Dear Lord, if you give us back Johnny Cash, we'll give you Justin Bieber.
I got completely lost once we got to the "mischievous Wallabies officials of that time" (i.e. 2007 when Growden started spouting 'Gits to leave the Force" stories.
Who the hell are these officials and why the hell would they bother buying into that argument at all?
Guys, this is kind of funny.
James, whilst not condoning Muddy, there may be some talent out there in Perth amongst the kids.
The Eagles and Dockers arent that good, so why not create a team and image that will attract young kids.
And find a few more Alan Bonds and Laurie Connells to underwrite their deals too. kidding!
I am praying for the day when guys like young Eagle Nick Natinui or Aaron Sandilands (125kg 210cm!!!!) come through the Force system but its a step at a time. There is a Ben Hales who played for the Aus A Schoolboys (pretty sure) and is in the Force squad as well as a flanker Alex Rovira that I've heard good things about. Next year we might even see lock/6 Tom Murday (Force academy member and JWC team member) on a contract. If that happens we'd have 6 Wozzies in the Force. Which is 6 times more than we started with. And who knows what will be next? The talent is there is just needs time and guidance and like you say a children friendly image. It helps that the Ben Cousins saga has made the Force, even in all of its woes, seem like saints by comparison.
Smoke me a kipper, I'll be back for breakfast.
