The Chiefs still believe: while the less faithful followers might be wondering whether their team is headed for another mid-table finish after opening with three losses for 12th spot on the points table, the players' confidence has not been dented.
Stand-in skipper and blind-side flanker Liam Messam believes his team are about to break loose in this Friday night's home game against the Force, who have rocketed up to fourth with their upset away win over the Brumbies at the weekend.
"We were a lot more passionate than we have been the last two weeks and we're not far off,'' Messam said after Saturday's 22-15 home loss to the unbeaten Sharks at Waikato Stadium when TV match official referrals and their own lack of finish conspired against them. "Once we click, we're going to be a very dangerous side. I think that's a positive we can take out of tonight.''

This'll be a deciding match in the season. The Chiefs will really want it and if the Force really want it to it might make a good game. A good game we should win. But if we don't bring the same intensity as we did to the Brumbies game I for one will be a bit disappointed. Have we learnt from last year that you can't go into cruise control after a big win?
Smoke me a kipper, I'll be back for breakfast.
Chiefs always start slow, but always pick up and are on the fringes of the finals virtually every year.....I wonder if three losses in a row isn't too much for them and they'll turn into the incredible hulk this round.
I hope the slow start ot the season continues, but I suspect they'll come out pissing fire and the Force will need to smother that pretty bloody quick to have a chance in this one.......Pivotal game for the Force this week....interestingly, every other pivotal game has broken the season for them so far.......here's to them stepping up and setting sail for the finals!

Chiefs 1.50
Force 2.50 was early market this morning..
The Force scrum is a game wrecking misadventure. That debacle against the Brumbies isn't professional rugby standard.
If McIsaac goes off, the scrum gets towelled. It's hard to beat NZ teams with a scrum as bad as the Force.
The Brumbies were truely woeful. The Chiefs will be much more committed. Their season is on the line. This week will be a true test of the Force resolve.
I was tearing up with all the emotion last week with the "Gits has galvanised us" BS. If they beat a fired up Chiefs in the Waikato, I might believe the talk. The first 2 games showed little spark, effort, teamwork or committment.
I am a little worried that the Force will go belly up. Losing Brown is a huge blow. He is one player that has really been putting in.

SLB why are you here? Shouldn't you go to GTT.com.au or something - you haven't added any information or constructed any kind of argument in this post - if you want to just bag the force or rugby find a soap box elsewhere - most people here just put an ignore posts on people like you.
