No wet weather worries for Gregan
Wallabies captain George Gregan says he has no concerns about the playing surface at the Olympic stadium, despite heavy rain falling in Sydney ahead of Saturday night's Test against South Africa.
Maybe not, but there's wet weather worries for Sage.![]()
What was the go with the crowd Sage?
Sounded like they were watching a training run on C7, was there any atmosphere at the ground?
The loudest I heard all night was when they counted down the full time clock!
"Bloody oath we did!"
Nathan Sharpe, Legend.
The loudest cheers I heard were in order:
- Sterling Mortlock's conversion
- Mat Rogers try
- A 15 year old girl in a skirt and t-shirt winning fan of the match
- One of the under 7's (or whatever) making a crunching tackle on another kid during the half time game.
- Mark Gerrard's try
-Daylight
I admit that it's not the easiest thing to get a good atmosphere at Stadium Australia, 60,000 felt like 18,000, but still, the crowd wasn't really into it. There wasn't too much to cheer about, personally I tried my best as did a few others. But there's only too many times you can scream "GO THE WALLABIES" only to watch them kick it away again. The last 10 minutes were pretty fantastic though.
So now I can say I have the honour of witnessing the most boring 3N game of all time, as well as the most boring Super Rugby game of all time.
Fair call re nothing much to get excited about Sage, except it was like it (on TV at least) from the kick off!!! At no stage did I feel like I was watching one of the most critical matches of the season. I would have thought that the knock on from the kick off would have at least given the opportunity for an early roar...but no, just a talking rumble like the patrons were watching in their lounge rooms.
Here's hoping the Boks Australian fixture returns to where it belongs and is appreciated!

I won't go on blaming the staidum, however 30,000 at the SFS always sounds louder to me than 60,000 at Stadium Australia.
The crowd was vocal during the game, but it wasn't a 'special' atmosphere. I didn't think the 2005 Aus/SA game was a great atmosphere either just for comparison.
I think the Aussies only get fired up when we're threatened and outnumbered. So Sydney should take back the kiwi game, you guys can have the saffas and it all works out.
Sage you cheeky bugger! How about you keeping the japies and we get the All Blacks for a change.Or even better send them to Melbourne, god knows they love their .....( i cant say the the word Burgs)
.......lucky......
I reckon we should take the Bledisloe once we have our 60k stadium built North of the River
Sorry......just couldn't resist.....down Egan, down boy![]()

He's right though. You won't get the Kiwi game til you get a 60,000-70,000 stadia and pack it (first of which being the major problem I would think).
It's all about money.
Yeah shame we can't build it from vcash or we would be half way thereOriginally Posted by Sagerian
