Nice story in The West today, have not seen it on line yet.
Valentine expresses a wish to stay with the Force and is playing for a contract, so he should continue to improve in the second half of the season.
Looking forward to having on board for another year, hopefully he continues to improve.
Simon Cron: “People talk about winning and losing all the time and they are critical, but there’s a process to get into and it’s the ability to stay present, do your job and execute skills under pressure.”
He looked better this week, but everyone else did too. Glad to hear he would like to stay.
that's great news. so he won't be following drew if he decides to leave?
Be There. Be Heard. Be The Force Behind The Force
Leaves ChrissO with a decision to make then as he isn't getting alternated or really much playing time at all.
"Bloody oath we did!"
Nathan Sharpe, Legend.
i'd prefer C O'Y to start ahead of valo, purely for the fact that we SOS'ed him after Henjak was sacked. but im happy to see Valo wanting to get a contract

I actually think Valentine has been playing very well.
Controversy corner
loyalty doesnt really come into player retention anymore does it?
by being professional it means that players are possessions!
valentine hasnt got game time anywhere else and he has almost been everywhere! he would be mad not to sign if offered something!
I think Valo is a far better option than Chrisso, sorry, his defence is better and he has a good, powerful run from the base of the ruck...the only frustrating thing about him is his passing accuracy, it's a rare pass that isn't over the head or around the bootlaces!
If Chrisso could bulk up a bit, he'd towel Valo up, but he's just not up to the tough work IMHO

Another upside of Valo is, that having played a bit of 10, he can help in the play making a bit. It's a pretty good thing he's staying.
O'Young is great as a nippy, zippy halfback but that is much better suited to an impact role where the opposition is more tired and he can nip and zip through the gaps and doesn't have to make as many of the really hard tackles.
Smoke me a kipper, I'll be back for breakfast.
ive changed my opinion of valo since the start of the season.
i dont think he was a waste of money at all anymore. and i stand corrected by his form.
i think we would be a better team for having re-signed him. and i hope that he does.
great news!
was wondering what he was going to do!
BOKKE“Let me put it this way, A Springbok team contains Afrikaners, Englishmen, coloureds and blacks. It has parochial foes in Bulls, Sharks, Stormers, Cheetahs and Lions. It is a recipe for war! Yet in all the years of John Smit’s captaincy, there has never been one unhappy customer, not one voice of rebellion against his leadership. He is the glue that holds the Springboks together. The man is a legend!”- Jake White
I was rapted with his form against the Reds. He has talent but needs to show it from now on for me, and on a regular basis. Nice to see a player wanting to stay with us for a change instead of all the other negative shite we cop from the press.
the punters friend..... stick with me and you will be wearing
Same same..........he was a bit of a risk........one of those with a big unfullfilled reputation when he started with the reds years ago but seems to be coming of age out in the west.........sounds like a familiar story doesnt it.
He's marshalling the pack well and has been playing with a fair bit of mongrel which always sits well with me. I had heaps of hope for O'young when he came back but he hasnt really taken advantage of the oppurtunity that was available to him at the time.
Good to hear he's keen to put in the effort to earn himself a place. His form to date has certainly shown he was worth bringing over here.
I prefer him over CO'Y and would love to see Justin Turner as our back up for Valentine. With nothing more being said about Turner's back its fortunate we still have CO'Y on board. Its great to be spoilt for choice at scrumhalf, unlike last year when we needed to make an SOS call. Future certainly looks much brighter for the 9 jersey!
