For someone that gets up between 5am and 6am - losing the hours dayligt in the morning is an issue for me.
When I used to deal with teh east a lot, teh 3 hours difference was fantastic! I got to start work at 6:30am and finished by 3:00pm - provides the possibility for much more flexible work hours, and a 2:30 / 3:00 knock off when you have kids at school me4ans you get more time to play with them in the afternoon.
As for Rugby games ona Friday - what time is the game this Friday? 3:30pm, that's because there is no DLS
Got another skin cancer burned off my dome just the otehr week![]()
Yeah, yeah, but when the rest of the sensible world has DLS and we don't all of the other games are at 2.30...smartarse
BTW, scared to drive in the dark?.......besides another bonus to DLS, is it prevents some of the lycra weirdos from hogging the bloody road in the morning, and the ones that do go out are fair game cause most of them don't have lights.

Just happy to be here
It's this that blows the pro-DLS argument out of the water every time. Implying that those who like their time zone as it currently is (ie. no DLS) are stupid. The pro-DLS mob have a tendency to resort to name calling when faced with reason.
Correct. No DLS = 3:30pm games. It's DLS that messes with the times. That becasue DLS has ended in the Eastern States and NZ
Don't you enjoy the 3 hours of not having to deal with the eastern states after 2pm?Nice concept, many though have to deal with the East but still work 9-5
BTW - DLS or not - my kids have never had an issue with going to bed except perhaps on day one. They did wake up a little earlier when teh clocks changed back, but again only one day.
I don't think there's any dispute that for some it is inconvenient.
I know that my brickie and chippie mates are impacted by DLS for the same reason (later start in the mornings) although sometimes I think my mates' reason for working an hour less has more to do with getting to the pub than with the early afternoon heatSimilarilly, local delivery guys start an hour later in the morning because they need the light to load their vans (or so they tell me) and this results in somewhat more road congestion in the mornings (although one of my driver mates is more worried about not being able to check his cray pots before he goes to work). Much the same situation must be true for some others.
But it's the wealth creating industries that provide the financial foundation that enables the rest of us to have the work we do.
I call you names at anytime so that argument doesn't work with me. Seriously though, I see that being said a lot and what I can see it works both ways. Fairly typical when it is an emotive subject such as this.
No DLS = 2.30pm games when others have DLS and when others have finished DLS games are at 3.30pm.....you're doing this to annoy me aren't you
BTW, do you work at your computer by the light of the day at 5am or what?
Just happy to be here
Of course, it was never suggested that DLS was responsible for the boom (or the bust). The point is that if those industries are telling us that they see a positive advanatge to DLS then we should be supporting them and voting "yes".WA and it's industries have been plenty wealthy enough without DLS for the last however many decades.
I knew I should have spelt that out in the preceding post ........ ho hummm.
so it's "hats off" to Coach ??Got another skin cancer burned off my dome just the other week![]()
