Australian team of the week
Each week, Greg Growden and Rupert Guinness pick the form Australian Super 14 team. Do you agree?
15 Drew Mitchell (Force) (1)
14 Scott Staniforth (Force) (2)
13 Tyrone Smith (ACT) (3)
12 James O'Connor (Force) (3)
11 Cameron Shepherd (Force) (2)
10 Matt Giteau (Force) (4)
9 Josh Valentine (Force) (3)
8 Richard Brown (Force) (2)
7 George Smith (ACT) (5)
6 Matt Hodgson (Force) (3)
5 Nathan Sharpe (Force) (6)
4 Peter Kimlin(ACT) (2)
3 Ben Castle (Force) (1)
2 Tai McIsaac (Force) (1)
1 Ben Alexander (ACT) (2)
(Number of times selected in brackets).
Player of the round: SCOTT STANIFORTH. A mighty game by the former Waratah, setting up one try which was ridiculously disallowed and scoring another.
Try of the round: CAMERON SHEPHERD. A cheeky and smart chip kick by Josh Valentine put the Force winger away winning them the game.

Oh my gosh! They are... almost all force players! Wow!
Hm. Only complaint - where's Pek and Wykes and Bam and Crossy?![]()
A kick in this game is like a rather nasty alcoholic shooter, only as good as it's chaser...

BOKKE“Let me put it this way, A Springbok team contains Afrikaners, Englishmen, coloureds and blacks. It has parochial foes in Bulls, Sharks, Stormers, Cheetahs and Lions. It is a recipe for war! Yet in all the years of John Smit’s captaincy, there has never been one unhappy customer, not one voice of rebellion against his leadership. He is the glue that holds the Springboks together. The man is a legend!”- Jake White
i certainly agree with THAT team! grumbles finally got it right
Be There. Be Heard. Be The Force Behind The Force
They still got the "former Waratah" tag in there for Spanner. I know he is a former Tah, but it was ages ago

Would have been tough to pick it this week.
I pretty much agree with the team you've got their but their are some who were players unlucky not to make it.
Firstly Pocock, the guys got it tough coming up against George Smith and Phil Waugh, and if it wasn't for smithy he could be in every week.
I almost thinking you've got to add Fainifo just for catching Habana, sure Fainifo must have some real pace but I think Habana is slowing down in his old age.
Then their is Stirling Mortlock, sure out of the wingers he didn't play they best but he isn't really a winger and I think he had maybe a slightly better game then Tyrone Smith.
But otherwise pretty good.
At least we now know what the Force has to do to get noticed in a positive light by the journo's at the SMH! - beat the Tah's!!
Recognition at last as per Rupert Guiness' story in another thread we may finally be getting the credit the boys so richly deserve !!!!
We often moan when the side comes out each week but this week they appear to have got it spot on.
11 out 15 not bad at all, must be record for us in the SMH team, it may even be as much as all our previous reps combined!
Just shows how important a win against the Tahs was.
Simon Cron: “People talk about winning and losing all the time and they are critical, but there’s a process to get into and it’s the ability to stay present, do your job and execute skills under pressure.”
Dont know why Giteau is there i thought he missed to many kicks and was very quiet! But i guess the only other player that could have been there was Lealiifano and he didnt have the best game either. Although I reakon Lealiifano's try was the best I seen from Australian players on the weekend IMHO.
Generally speaking you aren’t learning much if your lips are moving!!!
Gits was the reason our entire backline fired up... unlike the tahs we used our width and gits was the conduit (too often ive blamed him for being a 1 man army but on Saturday he was a great distributer and we werent running sideways because of it. Valentine played a big part too and ill be surprised if he doesnt get green& gold off that performance.. inspired!!
Suprised they didn't try to sneak Benn Robinson in there.
I would've, thought he played typically well. I was going to post how it was a rort to show that the Force had to play out of their skins to beat the tahs, but when I cast my eye over all the positions I only came up with Benn of the many nns as a candidate.
I didn't catch the Brumbies game, so I can't comment on the Brumbies inclusions, but it's pretty clear why there are no Tahs or Reds!

If we lose Valo next year I'll be very peeved! He had a great game and was all over both the 'tahs 9's.
There was talk about replacing Valo with Sheehan and after Saturdays performance I can only bloody well hope not!
Valo has been the best thing to happen to the force this year
