What an incredible game that was, one that lived up to every single bit of hype generated over the past few days. The Detroit Red Wings gave it their best shot in the final six minutes, but Pittsburgh played a smart, intense game for 60 full minutes and deserved this win.
Marc-Andre Fleury had the game of his life, and made the biggest saves of his career in the final four seconds of the game. Awesome game.
Evgeni Malkin wins the Conn Smythe trophy as the playoffs MVP. Sidney Crosby becomes the youngest captain to ever win the Stanley Cup, and I can only imagine what it must have felt like to have to sit on the bench for most of the third period. He wanted to be out there, but couldn't. These playoffs proved that Crosby is the definitive leader of the Penguins.
If you feel like partying with the winners, head on over to Pensburgh and give them an internet chest bump.
Finally, congratulations to Philippe Boucher and Bill Guerin. Great job guys.
Only the third time a team has won game 7 away from home in NHL finals history after Montreal (1971) and Toronto (1945)
Go you Pens![]()
congrats to sid and the pens......

WhooooHoooo!!!!!!!!!!
What an awesome ride it was. The boys never stopped fighting. In 2 series they were down 2 games to 0 and they fought back to win in 7 games. Every series was clinched on the road. It was a great 2 months of playoff hockey.
Let the Party begin! Each player and coach gets to take the cup wherever they want. It will be at many partys over the summer in Pittsburgh. Each and everyone of them deserve it. Have fun boys!
The Red Wings Marian Hossa was a huge part of the Pens last year when they lost in the finals to the Red Wings. He was offered $49 million for 7 years by the Pens. He turned it down for a 1 year deal with the Red Wings and publicly said, it's because that's my best chance to win a cup. Well in the series the Pens held him to 0 yes zero goals! So to Mr Hossa I say thanks and enjoy your summer!
all the best larry, enjoy your victory......

CHEERLEADERS ROCK!!!
Since TWF started Larry would seem to have a very large run of success with his teams winning Championships.

"Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place and I don’t care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard ya hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done! Now if you know what you’re worth then go out and get what you’re worth. But ya gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain’t where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody! Cowards do that and that ain’t you! You’re better than that!" - Rocky Balboa
