Centrebet opens market on where Wallabies winger Lote Tuqiri will go
By staff writers
July 15, 2009 As speculation mounts over the future of sacked Wallabies winger Lote Tuqiri, fans who claim to have the inside word on what he'll do next can now put their money where their mouths are.
Online betting agency Centrebet has opened a market about where the 64-Test veteran will go next and they haven't ruled out a switch to either the A-League or the AFL.
While continuing his career in rugby is the shortest option, the prices that he will change codes are fairly tempting.
A return to the NRL, where Tuqiri played 99 games for Brisbane Broncos at the start of his career, is listed at $5 while a move to the English Super League is at $9.
An unlikely stint in the A-League or a switch to AFL have also been offered as options, with both listed at $501.
But with the legal ramifications of Tuqiri’s sacking from the ARU seemingly months away from being resolved, perhaps the best value for punters is betting that he won’t play any sport of any kind before 2011.
The odds on 'Doesn’t play in any of the above before 2011' are $9. Tempted?
European Rugby - $2.50
Super 14 - $3.00
Japanese Rugby - $4.00
NRL - $5.00
UK Super League - $9.00
AFL - $501.00
A-League - $501.00
Doesn't play in any of above before 2011 - $9.00
