A try with just 90 seconds remaining gave Bunbury a 13-10 win over Dunsborough in the Final of the South West Rugby Union (SWRU) competition.
Running with the breeze at their backs in the first half, Bunbury opened up an 8-0 lead in blustery, slippery conditions in Dunsborough.
The Dungbeetles fought back in the second stanza, with a converted try cutting the margin to 8-7 with ten minutes remaining. A penalty goal shortly thereafter gave the home side its first lead, 10-8, with just minutes remaining.
Bunbury replied with a spectacular try of their own to go ahead 13-10, and, despite having an opportunity to have a kick for goal from a penalty, Dunsborough could not penetrate the defence and eventually turned the ball over almost four minutes after time had expired.
Spectators, officials and players from both teams enjoyed the game, and the hospitality of the Dunsborough club was excellent.
