Will Genia
Not just a sweet pass!! Like many people on this site I have been most impressed with the on field abilities of Will Genia, he has been a revelation coming off of the bench for the Wallabies so far this year and a shining light in the last few losses. His passing has for the majority been slick, fast, flat, direct and to the front of the player allowing the fly half to run onto the ball. This means from the first receiver of a pass the backs are already moving forward, which as we know is where we want them to go. The result I think was shown as the Wallabies started to dominate late in the second half especially with 2 play makers on the field.
So impressed as I was with his on field abilities I was even more impressed watching the media interview him and the way in which he conveyed himself. http://tv.rugby.com.au?mediaId=f294e...b-c7f1b6997422
Unselfish and confident without being cocky which at his age a lot of the other younger players tend to be (JO’C for example IMHO{great player don’t get me wrong}). Hopefully as he pulls on the 9 jersey this weekend and more than like for the rest of the season he can continue to impress!!
Generally speaking you aren’t learning much if your lips are moving!!!
talking about cocky,
I think it would be really hard to JOC to not seem cocky with the amount of praise he receives in the media and attention elsewhere. he maybe cocky, but i think it would be hard for him not to be...
if you know what i mean...
He was pretty cocky before the media attention. But, he's 18 and a Wallaby, pushing bloody hard for a start.......I'd be cocky too!

I like genia cos he's a tuff lil nugget as well from what ive seen when he plays for the reds. Deceptively strong in the tackle with or without the ball.
Don’t get me wrong playing for your country at 18 allows for a certain amount of cockiness and it is something he will grow out of with age. It is just refreshing to see another player who will soon be told that he is the best thing since sliced bread seeming to act with self effaced humility and respect for others around him.

Anyone that puts Ben Lucas in the shade has to be bloody good.
not really, lucas had a pretty ordinary year, hopefully lucas can swap to 10 with quade outside him this year. i would prefer him at 10 to 9, always have.
Genia is a good player, but dont expect to much from him, he is still a young guy and this will be his first start
Nobody said he'd be world class, we only think he'll be better than Burgess.
