Rugby: Wallabies' win keeps series alive
11:54PM Saturday Sep 05, 2009
Tri-Nations
Australia 21
South Africa 6
The 2009 rugby Tri-Nations series remains alive after Australia thumped world champions South Africa 21-6 in Brisbane tonight.
The Springboks needed only to win tonight's match to secure the Tri-Nations championship, but were unable to defy history nor the class of Wallaby playmaker Matt Giteau.
South Africa have not won in Brisbane since 1971.

Wonderful to watch aperformance which we can be proud off - everyone stood up - the actual tries did not depend on Gits which was heartening to see not because Gits is not brilliant but only a team can win not one man on his own.
Pocock was tenacious and Genia had an excellent debut and seems to have formed an instinctive combination with Gits.
