The QR Reds will hold the first of their new season open training sessions this weekend, with a return to the Ipswich Rangers’ Woodend Road headquarters on Saturday, 24th October.
After a similar visit ahead of the 2009 Investec Super 14 season proved a popular initiative, the Reds were quick to accept the invitation when they were invited back to launch their 2010 pre-season campaign.
The players will be put through a training session under new Head Coach Ewen McKenzie from 8am-9:30am, before meeting local juniors and the general public at an autograph and Konica Minolta photo session afterwards. Ipswich Mayor Paul Pisasale, who welcomed the Reds on their last visit, will again be in attendance.
This will be Ewen McKenzie’s first official public outing in his new role as Head Coach.
Timetable for Saturday 24th October 2009:
7:15am - 7:30am: Queensland Reds arrive at Rangers
7:55am: Official welcome from Ipswich Rangers President (Damian Roche)
8am – 9:30am: Queensland Reds training
9:30am – 9:45am: Junior ball session
9:45am – 10:15am: Autograph & Konica Minolta photo session
10:15am: Thank-you from The Ipswich Mayor – Paul Pisasale
