QR Reds even redder in 2010
The QR Reds will take the field in the 2010 Investec Bank Super 14 in an all-red playing strip designed by Queensland-based teamwear sponsor KooGa.
The new look jersey was unveiled at a function at Eagle St Pier in Brisbane this morning.
The players embraced the opportunity to switch to all red when their views were canvassed during the off-season.
The blue shorts that the Reds have worn since the 1970s will be retained as part of the alternate strip of white jersey with red panels.
"We're about doing things differently from the way we've done them before here at the Reds and this is a very small, symbolic example of that," said Head Coach Ewen McKenzie.
"The jersey is the important thing and the cardinal red that has been worn with pride over the years has been retained, but now in the modern, high tech performance fabric available to KooGa.”
KooGa is now the Official Team Wear Sponsor of the QR Reds and Queensland Rugby Union after building their rugby reputation as official apparel sponsor of the Junior Reds, Queensland Schoolboys and Queensland Women’s representative teams.
“We started this business in Queensland and indeed it was the support from Queensland Rugby clubs and schools that formed the foundation of our company,” said KooGa CEO Kim Brant.
“I have two sons who have represented Queensland Rugby in different age groups so to have our brand on the States jersey is something we all feel very proud of.
“I personally believe the Reds have a very exciting future ahead and look forward to long and prosperous partnership.”
A number of former Reds greats were on hand at the jersey launch to show their support, including Pat Howard, Tony Shaw, Bill Ross and Rod McCall, now the Chairman of Queensland Rugby.

I prefer the away strip.
I guess I'll get used to seeing that wrapped around dejected rugby players after 80 minutes of combat.
C'mon the![]()

Quade of course will probably be wearing something with a fair few more stripes on it. And probably black and white instead of red and white.
Smoke me a kipper, I'll be back for breakfast.

you know I got so excited when I saw this thread on the home page ... Reds 2010 Strip ... However, after clicking on the link I soon realised that they still have there clothes on ... and there is no mention of a 2010 calander (similar the the fire dept. calenders) or adult show for the ladies ... very dissapointed!![]()

I'm with you Lonzy! Surely it would encourage a new range of female fans if they were to do that.
How about we encourage the Force to do the same - that would be a nice Christmas present!
Laugh and the world laughs with you.......

On a related topic Lonz, I don't know if anyone here is looking for a change of job, but...http://hr.leeds.ac.uk/jobs/ViewJob.aspx?m=all&JId=785.
