just learned that the 6 nations will be shown by ESPN this year.
first game on feb 6th.
main point is - apparently, the only live games will be on ESPN HD with 'encore screenings' on ESPN.
so unless you have the HD package, you will be subject to replays, when and where it suits the ESPN controllers ( so long as it does'nt clash with lingerie NFL of course).
i have been monitoring the sports channels since HD came in and so far, it seems as though all fox1/fox2 etc games are replicated on their respected HD channels.
this is the first time i have noticed a difference, which, if you want to watch the 6 nations live, will force you to upgrade to the whole HD package.
if i read my foxtel guide correctly, the upgrade to HD is only possible if you have the IQ2 set anyway.
so it looks like ordinary SD foxtel subscribers will not be able to watch the games live at all!
i would appreciate thoughts on this as i will be bringing this to the attention of foxtel, ESPN & australian gov.
