A great game spoiled by over zealous blowing of the whistle. Two evenly matched teams, going hammer and tongs. A very enjoyable, hard fought match that went down to the wire.Their was only a cigarette paper separating the 2 teams all day.Neddies came back in the dying stages of the game to score a try but could not convert. Score line 15 v 14. Go Wests.
Do you need a vcash donation TLH???
In this age of profesionalism, and the union supposedly awash with money, would it be that difficult to have a quality APC, NPC or Currie Cup standard referee brought in to officiate the finals series?
The premier WA referee could be rewarded by being assigned to officiate in eastern state finals, say Victoria or Tasmania. It would be a huge boost to WA rugby and help ensure that the finals in those states are not tainted by local bias, actual or perceived.
I am, as ever, the diplomat.
Inconsistent would be one word to describe the refereeing. I also thought that it would be a good idea to bring in 'neutral' referees for the grand final.
yeah.. i missed it - I had to pay back what I owed to the Sleep Bank. Looked a nice day for it though!!!
Chuck Norris has the greatest Poker-Face of all time. He won the 1983 World Series of Poker, despite holding only a Joker, a Get out of Jail Free Monopoly card, a 2 of clubs, 7 of spades and a green #4 card from the game Uno.
Fulvio, i thought they always brought in a ref from over east? The touch ref on our wing did bugger all with gross infringements right in front of him, gutless wonder. It was extremely, poor standard.
Gerry that is a lovely gesture, but i will struggle on. Ive traded in my wallet for a wheelbarrow.Originally Posted by travelling_gerry

I agree another fantastic local final.
Refs were shocking (a line out throw is either straight or it's not, and if it's not you blow it up) as were the ref officials that were seated in front, how they expect to gian the respect of players, coaches and supporters does not seem of any interest to them, although they are a very nice uniform which must be the main reason they took up the whistle.
Luke Holmes did not look like he will make the field for the APC when he came off (carried by to female trainers I might add, lucky Luke) and West-Subi certainly deserved the win.
Young Elliot ("the hyphen") No20 that came off the bench for WS would be my pick to be the first home grown Western Force player to make the Super 14 side.

As drunk as i was, I think yesterdays referees were shocking in all grades. You could see how bias and gutless some of them are. The touchies didn't have the balls to put their flag out when there were blatent, penalties unseen by the field ref. Great day that was almost spoilt again by the garden gnomes in white.
edit: 200th post. WOO!
a bi centenary well done!
