Queensland Reds star Quade Cooper says he is not being distracted by speculation about his contract negotiations.
Newspaper reports have suggested he will turn down an approach from the Western Force to remain in Queensland.
Cooper says he is focussing on this week's match against the Force in Brisbane.
"There's always going to be speculation like that," he said.
"At the moment [it's] the old cliche - I'm just concentrating on the my football.
"We've got a big game this week against the Force coming off a win over the Chiefs. [I'm] just concentrating on getting two wins in a row. [It] is a goal that's in our heads at the moment."

do these guys just make things up?
or
is there some truth to this article?
rather have genia than cooper
Genia re-signed only at the end of last year for another 2 or 3
sounds like he is going to stayCooper didn't deny interest from the winless Western Force, who the Reds host at Suncorp Stadium on Sunday afternoon, but gave a strong indication his blossoming partnership with halfback Will Genia, combined with Queensland's retention of Digby Ioane and captain James Horwill, would make it difficult to leave.
He also said he would be keen to finalise his future as early as possible to avoid endless speculation throughout the Super rugby campaign.
"This season has been going well for us as a whole. There's obviously going to be some interest - I'm coming off contract - but there's a long way to go in the season and hopefully I can get it all sorted," Cooper said.
"My halfback partner re-signed. To have him stay, Digby, Kevvie (Horwill) is on board. It's just a matter of getting a roll on after that. Hopefully myself and the rest of the boys can get it all sorted out sooner rather than later."

Frankly, I'd be very surprised if he doesn't. No small thing to have an established pairing with the current (and, increasingly likely, long term) Wallabies scrum half.
and he did apparently link one of the articles on his facebook saying he was going to stay in QLD, make what you want of that i suppose
Force probably tabled an offer though... be surprised if they werent interested.
As much as I'd like to see the Force do well I don't want the Reds to suffer. Cooper would be great to have in the team but the Reds need him too. I'd rather have someone older who can be a mentor to the young-ins (O'Connor, Hunt and Godwin). Shame Hill can't go over to play in the ANZC and come back for next years S14.

Although Barnes hasn't exactly been killing it at 10 with the 'Tahs...
agreed... on current Form Coops has the edge on Gits and Barnes...
Cooper is probably the best Australian inside back at the moment. He may as well keep looking around because there will be some big offers from the Force, Rebels and Europe.
It would be pretty average though to indicate quite strongly that your staying and then to bugger off. He'll probably want to resolve his legal issues first anyway. No point having a star fly-half if he's in jail![]()
