    Nic Nat

Now you'd be forgiven for thinking that, with a title like that, I'd posted in the wrong forum!

But I was reading an article about West Coast Eagle, Nic Naitanui and it got me thinking...

Rugby Union has had many converts from League, and probably a couple of converts from AFL...

I wonder if Nic Nat could be someone to be targeted for transition into Union...

Now it'll probably never happen, but if it did, what position do you think would be best for him? At 201cms and pretty quick off the mark, it'd have to be something like breakaway or No 8 I'd think.

    Thoughts?

I wonder what's gonna peek out of his mop first. A squirrel or a budgerigar.

Yeah but that's just lifting weights... Why aren't there more AFL converts to Union?

    Possible reasons:

    1: Brains
    2: Money
    3: Absence of drugs
4: The violence is ON the pitch
5: Not international - have to actually be born here to like it
6: Different people are different shapes so you can actually play it with your mates
7: You actually need to act as a team on the pitch to win
8: Less boring to play - how many marks can you actually take in a game
9: Better after the game culture - the lads actually talk to each other

Naitanui is overrated in AFL circles at the moment

Thanks mainly to the hype from the WA media.

In the spirit of RugbyZAP's post, I think he'd fit in nicely at the Force as a reserve orange cutter. If things soured and he didn't make the cut, he could bulk up a bit and try out as lock. He is a bit of a spring heeled jack from all accounts and would make thinks be interesting at line outs - where he could take the ball in the air and boot it 60 metres.....

Not just the media. Some West Coast supporters I know reckon he will take them to a premiership single handed. He does have a bright future in fumbleball though

Just not yet. He is getting pushed too hard and he isn't that good. Mind you he is a thug onfield from what i've seen, so he fits in at the Weagles.

I'm sure there were some that thought Giteau would do the same here though.

Maybe. But one commentator, who's opinion I give a bit of credit, Leigh Matthews, reckons he's likely to be the player who'll take the mark of the century. But I reckon it'll be Israel Folau.

It says something about a game when no one in the rest of the entire planet want to play it.
