tI've been in Dongara this weekeng fishing and carousing with my old mate Goaty Foster and a few other friends, so I haven't heard any news from around the local club scene about the latest round of scratch matches.
Anyone have any news?
I suspect Cott, Uni, Nedlands and Soaks may have had some difficulties without their Force and Academy players, and I can't say I'd shed too many tears for them if they did.
I've got a heap of fresh octopus for the next Pally club BBQ, and hopefully some fresh sea mullet by tomorrow. Maybe a dhuefish or two as well, but the boys won't be seeing them!
Gotta go, my mate wants his laptop back.

Waterboy jumped ship from Perth and headed to Wests, that's about all I know...
Dear Lord, if you give us back Johnny Cash, we'll give you Justin Bieber.
Waterboy or Water rat?
rocky got up over cott
When the Force are away Cott doesn't seem very strong.
Is this a new pattern emerging?
Well done to the Rocky boys. Hope you winged a few of the seagulls.
I hear he's been disinherited by his father because of it.
Fair enough too.
not as if his old man never changed clubs![]()
Piss weak excuse to get out of the 14 beers you owe me.
Pally dusted Neddies - good to see Tajon back.
Back home now after a great weekend. Caught a few fish but only enough for a feed or two, not enough to do a JC and feed the troops at the club. Never mind. The occy will make up for it once I get it cooked and marinated.
So Palmyra touched up Nedlands in all grades, and, depending on whether you believe Chertubler or the Rockingham official site, Rocky beat or drew with Cott and came close in seconds.
Uni played Geraldton, so there is not a lot to be gleaned from there, but they did win the pre-season comp. Other than that, I have heard nothing yet.
It looks like the early flyers will probably include Wanneroo, Palmyra, Cottesloe, Uni and Rocky, but Nedlands and Soaks have to be in it. Wests is still a dark horse to me.
That doesn't mean that this is likely to stay the same for long. I suspect a few injuries will bring Rocky down, as they have naf all depth, and Cotts chances depend on how many of their Force contingent will hang around after their season. Cott have burnt many bridges with their local players, and those pidgeons may yet come home to roost.
Wanneroo don't have a good record in handling mercenaries, even if they have had a lot of experience in that department lately, and there could be some ship jumping Nedlands way before long. Keep an eye on that one.
Guess I'll have to wait a round or three before shoring up any predictions.
