All Black legend Jonah Lomu has revealed he needs a new kidney as his health has once again deteriorated.
The winger was diagnosed with the rare kidney disorder nephrotic syndrome in 1995 and underwent a kidney transplant in 2004.
Lomu spent sixteen days in hospital last year after returning to New Zealand from France to attend the Rugby World Cup, and in an interview with New Zealand Women's Weekly he admitted that his health is poor. The father of two has lost a massive 30kgs since September.
"Unfortunately none of the treatment has worked, my kidney is exactly the same as it was when I first got sick," said the 36-year-old, who needs dialysis three times a week.
