Cott Flanker Ryan Hodson has been called up to the Rebels bench for tonight's clash with the Bulls.
Ryan has been playing with Manly this season and has just returned from a great stint with the Australian Universities team in NZ.
Good luck Ryan and hope you get a cap tonight.![]()

Maybe it is time for the Force recruiters to open their eyes Something is very wrong somewhere The Force is spending huge amounts of money on what ???????
The Rebels gets Ryan and the Force gets some mercenary WTF The next one to be signed by the Rebels will be Olly
Your so right Zack Holmes and now Ryan.Someone needs to watch our own talent and not think that the Eastern States is the best
Hoddo is a flanker. I am pretty sure we have flanker covered in spades.
... and congrats to the young feller, hope he goes well. Doug must be proud.
Well they could have sacked a Wallaby flanker to give a spot to a local lad!
Or they could have dumped Cotterell from the EPS to give Hoddo a slot!
Unfortunately Ryan simply plays the wrong position right now to gain an EWF contract....shame, local talent is ne of the reasons this team exists, but good on the man for cracking the bench.......hopefully they'll blood him and develop him so we can pinch him home in a few years time!
C'mon the![]()

Agreed. While it would be great to see more locals in the Force, I am almost as pleased to see them get their shot regardless. I agree with bandit, Holmes was probably the bigger miss. I wish we didn't have to send them all away to get some proper game time, but that is the system the ARU wants.
Probably the ONLY reason not to hate everything about the rebels.
Hopefully he gets on and goes insane!

Except that, as reported, if you run out of senior and EPS you have to go to the national academies first...
Mind you, on the subject, one might also reasonably ask a) how exactly he is in our academy if he is training and playing in NSW, and b) if he is already over there and good enough for the Rebels, how was it that he could have been mysteriously overlooked for the ARUs national academy...
#conspiracyagainstWA!!! i tells ya!
Couldn't have said it better Jono.
Although is Ryan Hodson in the national academies?
I like Cottrell. Cottrell has been great, but I'd still take the local. Guys coming through age grade here need to know they are going to be given a good shot at going to the next level.
Smoke me a kipper, I'll be back for breakfast.
Not listed as far as I could determine (would mean they would have to pay for him). Only one I could see was Postal, who has gone home to Q'ld.
