Hey everybody
Anyone heard about how the search for a new coach is going? I'm sure I heard Vern on the news a couple of weeks ago saying they were getting in to the interview stage?
Got told today (hope it ain't true) that Cheika hadn't even applied for the job? Fingers crossed he has.
Any news or untrue speculative rumours are as always, very appreciated
unfortunatley Rumour monger only comments on the local club scene.I reckon he could come up with a few gems about the force though
Michael Cheika, Andy Friend, John Kirwan, Tim Lane, Brian Melrose, Phil Mooney, John Mulvihill and Eddie O'Sullivan are in the mix. As are Phil Blake and Andrew Scotney.
The interviews, either in person or by telephone, have ben conducted with the short-listed candidates, not all of whom actually applied for the position but were contacted as an "expression of interest"
The short list has been trimmed further with a second round of interviews, which includes certain stakeholders in the franchise (eg players' reps and sponsors), is now underway with the two remaining candidates for the position.
The franchise thinks it will be in a position to offer the role within a few days and make the announcement of the appointment late next week.
They think, however, they will hold off on the announcement until shortly before the Brumbies match; 30 June 2012. If things go as planned, there will be a certain irony about the timing of the announcement.
At least that's my untrue speculative rumour about the progress anyway!

love your work Ecky
Chuck Norris has the greatest Poker-Face of all time. He won the 1983 World Series of Poker, despite holding only a Joker, a Get out of Jail Free Monopoly card, a 2 of clubs, 7 of spades and a green #4 card from the game Uno.
no mention of Scott Johnson Ecky?
The long sobs of autumn's violins wound my heart with a monotonous languor
Please No
I reckon you have reached the bag limit for today Ecky

Not that im keen on Andy Friend but did he really stand a chance with the personalities he had to deal with last season?
What not many people realise re Andy F was that his wife was very sick towards the start of his fateful last season at the Brumby's hence he was mildly distracted to say the least. He is a very good coach and did wonders at Quinns and was never given a real shot by the prima donnas with Mr Larkham Snr angling for his son to get a gig.
If he comes here I wish him all the best

Agreed. Had always been highly rated and respected by his peers.
