THE Wallabies have drafted a completely new front-row and centre combination to energise the team for Saturday night's rugby union Test against Wales at Suncorp Stadium. Eight fresh players come into the starting line-up following the 9-6 humiliation suffered in Newcastle's wild, wet conditions against Scotland midweek.
Loosehead prop Benn Robinson will make his first appearance since the record breaking 59-16 win over France in 2010 after being forced to miss all of last year's Test program due to a knee injury.
Fellow prop Sekope Kepu is also back in an all-NSW front-row beside hooker Tatafu Polota-Nau.
Queensland's Rob Simmons comes in to start at lock beside veteran Nathan Sharpe while No. 8 Wycliff Palu adds muscle to the backrow. Scott Higginbotham shifts to blindside flanker.
In the backs, Adam Ashley-Cooper comes in at fullback for Luke Morahan while Rob Horne and Pat McCabe replace Anthony Faingaa and Mike Harris in the centres.
Harris has been named on a bench which also includes Brumbies halfback Nic White.
Wallabies team to play Wales: Adam Ashley-Cooper, Joe Tomane, Rob Horne, Pat McCabe, Digby Ioane, Berrick Barnes, Will Genia; Wycliff Palu, David Pocock (capt), Scott Higginbotham, Nathan Sharpe, Rob Simmons, Sekope Kepu, Tatafu Polota-Nau, Benn Robinson.
Res: Stephen Moore, Ben Alexander, Dave Dennis, Michael Hooper, Nic White, Anthony Faingaa, Mike Harris.

Ok I'm not sure how the weather report made it into the title!

Lol ... The weather report got my attention :p
"Believe in the best, think your best, study your best, have a goal for your best, never be satisfied with less than your best, try your best, and in the long run things will turn out for the best."
Well done Jargs...title really hooked me
You'd hate to be a winger with Horne and McCabe inside you. Tomane to touch the ball twice during the game.
coz Stone Cold says so
bahahahahah
Chuck Norris has the greatest Poker-Face of all time. He won the 1983 World Series of Poker, despite holding only a Joker, a Get out of Jail Free Monopoly card, a 2 of clubs, 7 of spades and a green #4 card from the game Uno.
Horne/McCabe/Barnes - should have the Welsh absolutely shaking in their boots...
Only if he catches a Welsh kick %)
I've said this all over the net today, seven Tahrds are being rewarded for their stellar season and scintillating backs play
I think Barnes McCabe Horne are picked as defense against big Welsh backs, which seriously depresses me because it shows Deans has lost his bottle, selecting a team to negate the other instead of attacking the other sigh %((
The long sobs of autumn's violins wound my heart with a monotonous languor
Well done jargs, a far more eye catching title than some crap about team changes, which we all knew were going to happen. Thanks to your timely weather report, I'm going straight to the 19th hole to wet my insides!
As for the rugby; I'm learning the words to "Hen glad wrap" so I can join in singing with my Welsh in-laws when they celebrate.
There seems to be a dearth of creative centres in this country.. mystifying. We are going to struggle until this is resolved.

a bloke whos name hasnt been mention much but when people like vuna and shipperly are getting a chance is Mafi. Hi form has been great this year on both the wing and fullback. He is the tyoe of player the wallabies are missing atm with beale and JOC missing someone who can spark something. I guess if he was a tah or red he would be there but i hope one day soon...
“Everyone knows whether it’s rugby, politics or whatever, front-rowers should rule the world, so to have a hooker at the helm makes sense,” Nathan Charles Western Force & Wallabies Hooker.
An early Christmas present for wales.
A new and crapper centre pairing.
It must have been a great team meeting. 'ok boys, how can we fix the fact that the centres weren't damaging runners and didn't pass the ball out to the wings enough...here's an idea, let's use Horne and McCabe, that'll work!'
C'mon the![]()
