With the influx of Media speculation over the Western Force Coaching situation we have copped a high number of speculative articles written be East Coast based reporters. And we here at TWF have collectively reacted to these reports.
I have an idea about this - a thought if you will, the problem is, it is very difficult to get the words right. Please bear with me, you might have to work with me a bit.
Lets look at Greg Growden as an example. Growden writes for the Sydney Morning Herald. The Sydney Morning Herald is a sponsor of the Tahs. The main purpose of the Sydney Morning Herald is to sell Newspapers in Sydney. Now this year with the Tahs having a shocker of a year and losing like 8 games in a row I would imagine it is difficult for Growden and colleagues to write interesting Rugby stories and still sell newspapers. It would however be much easier to pick on a non Sydney based side.
It would be a very safe bet that the Sydney Morning Herald and its band of merry reporters couldn't give a fat rats clacker about TWF or Western Force Fans or Western Australians in general. It isn't their market.
With these thoughts in mind. Does the reports that come from the Sydney Morning Hearld or The Herald Sun in Melbourne or The Australian et al loose some of their venom?
I hope this makes sense.
