Disgrunted members formed both clubs ,both clubs were given the go ahead by rugby WA even though they were told that it would put a strain on rocky teams. Now what is the saying TOLD YOU SO

I beg to differ there FS
Joondalup has a very big area that they cover they should have been a Premier club long time ago and 2 of the big 5 clubs should have been merged into one club.
Legend:
big 5: more votes than brains or players
Big 5: Nedlands, West, Cotts, Soaks, Uni,
Merge: take the 2 clubs with the least amount of local players in their area and and the biggest amount of imports from outer suburbs and merge them!!!
Kala prems are struggling, have been most of the year. Neddies weren't full strength from the last time we played them. We do not stack the lower grades at Kala, if we had prems wouldn't have halved their losing margin from the last time we played them. It should have been a larger win for Neddies if we dropped our best players, shouldn't it? As for the merger i agree it might be a great solution to the situation if Rockies 3rd and 4ths are struggling for numbers and Mandurah u/20s are forfeiting games, like this weeks game against Kala u/20s.
Or Mandurah, Leeming, Midland, Norths (are they still around) Curtin and Arks.
Eight or ten strong teams with depth, tight control of OS recruiting limits, salary caps, fair, immutable competition rules, strict numerically equal distribution of Force players... and, bingo, you have a sustainable and vibrant local competition.
I thought it was only the Rugby Club, Kiwi's & Saffa's who kept going on about the lack of talent & depth in Australian rugby.
Seems like we're not too far from getting stuck in to WA metro rugby too?
Well, with Kala, Rockingham and Nedlands going down the tubes ...
You are dead on the money Pieter - Unfortunately, this is what I think the likes of, Socks, Neddies, Wests, Cott & Uni want.
By creating/allowing Kwinana (or Rocky Jnr B's) they will eventually dilute Rockinghams and even Southern Lions Senior playing stocks and you'll keep seeing the cream Junior players leaving their weaker Senior's and heading to the Inner City Clubs.
This has been taking place for years now, and as player numbers are only increasing in the Suburban catchment areas like, Mandurah, Rocky, Lions, Arks, Kala, Baysie, Brothers & RooDogs, they (Inner City Clubs) will fight tooth & nail to keep their clubs in a dominant position and only see the rest as FEEDER clubs for them.
How in the bloody world did RWA allow Kwinana to be founded, especially knowing what they new about Rockingham at the time.
RWA: Rockingham are in the trenches with those Mungos next door to them, aren't they.
Big Five: Yeah, poor bastards.
RWA: Hahahaha, that'll teach them for driving Australian made cars then.
Big Five: I know what'll be a laugh.
RWA: What?
Big Five: This will Fark em, we'll start another club up just down the road.
RWA: I see what you're up to, great thinking chappies.
From Rocky to Lions or Pirates it's less than 30kms and with a lot of farm/bushland and big straight dual carriage ways surrounding them both,(and Rugby League Clubs) travel is a piece of cake.
The Seagulls are 2.5kms from Socks and both 7kms from Neddies, you can't tell me these Inner City Clubs don't have 'Grand Plans' for the Suburban Clubs to keep them stocked for years to come.
You'll see more clubs like Kwinana popping up in the future. This will keep a steady stream of Jnr's flowing their way for years to come I predict.
Conspiracy theories or not,Rocky were hard-done-by and got DP'd by Kwin' RU and the Sharks RL Clubs over the last couple of years.
I've read other threads on here, saying that Rocky are under new management, (committee) who by all accounts are slowly getting the club back on it's feet after several years of average helmsmen-ship.
I'll wrap my head in Tin Foil now and get off to bed.
To suggest that a club could have a premier grade and then a 3rd and 4th grade is simply ridiculous..... Strong Premier grade clubs are built upon pressure coming from below for players to rock up to training games and other duties..... paid..... housed .... whatever the incentive i bet you the Nedlands coach isn't looking around on a Thursday night wondering who is going to turn up to play Prems this week......
Success in Prems comes from strong reserve grades and under 20's...... Believe it or not Rockingham was strongly positioned at the start of the year and in second grade had some good wins against more fancied opposition.... 3rd grade also had some good victories...... This success has not translated to Prems, its true, but we are a club with as much passion as anyone else........just not the numbers
In terms of merging Rockingham with Mandurah....... That will happen the same week NZ is admitted into the Australian Federation to become the 7th State..... It makes perfect sense......... But do you think it could work?????
Rugby WA good for fuck all
It might sound ridiculous and idealistically you want each prems team to have 1st, 2nd & 3rd grade sides, but there simply aren't enough good players to go around to make this a realistic reality for some clubs. Rockys 3rd grade players are 3rd grade calibre, in other words if they were to move up a grade or two they would be out of their depth (there are obviously some exceptions). And this is the same at Wanneroo. Whereas Nedlands have guys that have played 1st grade, played for WA & rep rugby in NZ that are playing 5th grade and could probably still setup up to prems in an emergency. That is why clubs like Rocky struggle. They have 15 - 20 guys that are capable of playing 1st grade, they get a few injuries, they're fucked. Nedlands have 40+ guys that could play 1st grade.
