Beware the Italian scrum: Connolly
Australian rugby union coach John Connolly says Italy will be tough opponents this weekend in Rome despite having never beaten the Wallabies.
I agree with Knuckles, as long as "Trestle" Al is in the front row then second tier packs like the Italians will prove a handful.![]()

Careful Burgs.....if the Italian pack performs like it can on Saturday then you may well have to be describing the Wallaby pack as 3rd tier (maybe already an apt description of their props' recent performances)!!!Originally Posted by Burgs
The Italians have traditionally been strong scrummagers without necessarily following this up in the loose.
CHEERLEADERS ROCK!!!
Sorry JK, I more accurately should have been referring to second tier TEAMS rather than packs, I was more aiming at the Wallabies than picking on the Italians. The pack of a second tier team.![]()

No worries Burgs, I thought that's what you were meaning but just wanted to be sure....!!!
CHEERLEADERS ROCK!!!
Its not just the pack we have to watch out for, the italians are a vastly improved side. They pushed every side they played in the 6 nations over the last 2 years. They very nearly upset France... I don't think they are to be taken lightly, especially the way we played against the Welsh.

Incompetent isn't the right word... But its the first one that comes to mind.
