Today, at Britannia, marked the final referee appointment for a stalwart of refereeing in Perth.
Having started refereeing in Perth, down at Langley Park, in the 1980's, Hugh Creasy finally blew full time on his junior refereeing this morning. If you ever played junior rugby in Perth, you were probably reffed by Hugh at some stage.
There was a "guard of honour"and presentation to Hugh this morning and I imagine there'll be more coverage than this little post in the very near future.
Regardless of how you felt about Hugh's refereeing, it is hard to imagine anyone giving as much to rugby (especially junior rugby and Golden Oldies) than he. He is an icon in Perth rugby.
Good onya Hugh. Go well in your retirement mate.![]()
I thought when i saw this title it referred to berrick barnes last test!
Gotta love Hugh, if someone got around you you'd just have to shout "forward pass" and he blow his whistle and call em back for a scrum.

I understand that Hugh turns 75 next week and the ARU "tapped him on the shoulder" via Rugby WA and said enough is enough.
Hugh will continue his involvement with the Golden Oldies though and probably referee till the day he drops.
