Not happy with that injury list though
http://au.news.yahoo.com/thewest/spo...tal-for-force/
every lock on the surgery list? i suppose it was all planned by the players though.
Not fully fit until January?? Eeeeek!
This bit of the presser was interesting too:
"In the last few years our results have been, quite frankly, unacceptable and it's time for significant changes," he said.
"We know our standing over the past few seasons has been unacceptable and we have effectively turned over the entire professional rugby department."
Take that RG & Co.!!
Hopefully that means McCalman is off the injury list. I thought I read somewhere that his shoulder is ok now but his arm was buggered?
The more time that passes, the more I am liking Foley and what he is setting up and trying to achieve.
For the first time it appears we have a great structure in place, and hopefully some hungry players.
Cannot wait for Season 2013, it may just show that one R. Grahams leaving was the best thing to happen to the Force.
Simon Cron: “People talk about winning and losing all the time and they are critical, but there’s a process to get into and it’s the ability to stay present, do your job and execute skills under pressure.”
totally agree Tazz.
this definitely has a different feel to past changes (one RG's appointment to head coach comes to mind), coming in from the top and working through the entire group.
i think this will have the added benefit of giving the players confidence (those who still remain, or have been newly signed would be totally on board with the "Relaunch" concept), and also a hunger to pay back the faith that has been placed in them.
is there anything behind Vern Reid not making this announcement? is he just on holidays or something? not trying to start a conspiracy theory, just wondering.
We've been here before pre-season and ended up disappointed. Let's hope he can put his money where his mouth is. In saying that I am excited by the rhetoric that is coming out. I like the idea of pursuing excellence.
Also well done to management for bringing about the change we, the fans, have been pushing for. Let's hope the boys can put it together on the field.
coz Stone Cold says so
I was thinking the same thing stoney, but for me the significant difference is that we've never been told that performance wasn't good enough, we were always building or learning or trying hard.
I like that somebody is coming out with this professional environment and setting some standards to be achieved.
Whether we achieve them in the next three years or not, It's nice to think somebody is finally dissatisfied with mediocrity.
C'mon the![]()

absolutely Gigs.
certainly in the past we have been misled with management talking the talk of team change, however there seems to some real conviction behind the chatter this time.
not only that, but with these personell changes they appear to have at least taken the first steps of walking the walk.
maybe i'm just a glass half full kinda guy!![]()
Pessimist sees it half empty, the optimist sees it have full, the oppurtunist drinks its...
You would prefer a injury list after sugery now and not in February or March
