Perth-Bayswater RUFC is delighted to welcome former NZ Maori Coach and NPC High Performance Manager Donny Stevenson to the position of premier grade co-coach for the 2012 season.
Donny will be sharing the role with Perth-Bayswater's 2007 premiership-winning coach, John 'JT' Taylor.
A former Auckland and North Auckland representative player, Donny has a Diploma in Physical Education from Otago University and a background as a high school physed teacher, before turning pro as high performance manager and liaison officer for the Northland Rugby Union. Donny spent four years as an NPC assstant coach and two years as NPC high performance manager before going on to four years as NZ Maori assistant coach and finally three years as NZ Maori coach.
The club is extremely fortunate to have been able to secure the services of a coach with Donny's outstanding credentials, to join a proven performer and a great contributor to the club's playing future in JT.
The club looks forward to a bright future in the 2013 season under Donny and JT, and aims to secure a number of key players to further improve the advances made by a committed core playing group in 2012 under outgoing coach Dean Carlisle, who has resigned from the position due to business pressures.
