I would be keen to get some feedback from any of the members of this forum who have children or younger relations who play in the junior competitions for various clubs across the metro area do you feel a potential 17 game season is enough too much or just right?
Hi there
I'm wondering what the age requirements are for starting junior rugby? My young bloke doesn't turn 4 until next June, so I imagine I can't get him involved until 2014, but I just wanted clarification on when exactly they can join in. I want to get him into rugby before footy gets hold of him through school!!!
Cheers
Officially under 6s, (the year they turn 6), however I know of some kids who played the year they turned 5
BTW under 6 to under 8 is non-tackle.
C'mon the![]()

Dear Lord, if you give us back Johnny Cash, we'll give you Justin Bieber.
Cheers DR C I have just come over from the UK and my oldest boy played tag rugby over there and my youngest played micro's I am with you that the season over here seems short thus why I was looking for feedback. I also wonder if the various clubs play tournaments against each other.
Living south of the river it would be nice to play against teams from North of the river
From Willetton, your closest club would be Palmyra at Tompkins Park. They have a large and successful junior division.
