As he reinforced with his performance this weekend, he's a playmaker who needs to be closer in to the ball, with many more touches. Think of that short ball to Kingi, and the quick hands to their winger that was called back. He can go through a gap with his footwork or put others through a gap that he creates. He needs to be at 10 or 12 - just because he CAN play wing, doesn't mean he should.

Considering Deans is adamant about him playing at wing - that's a sure sign he should be at 10 or 12...

    Try this on for size;
    9. Mathewson
    10. JOC
    11. Stubbs / Junior
    12. KG
    13. CTM
    14. THB
    15. Morahan

Unfortunately, the bench would consist of Sias, Hayward, ???

Could you imagine JOC letting a short ball go to KG in space and having a SBW lookalike running off KG. That is what dreams are made of. Tiem for a Jack's.

Brumbies rule out a move for off-contract Melbourne Rebels star James O'Connor

The Brumbies have ruled out a play for Melbourne Rebels star James O'Connor as the Super Rugby club ponders how to make best use of their burgeoning backline stocks.

Rumours were rife last week that the 22-year-old wasn't happy at the Rebels and was looking to either move back to Western Force or start anew with the Brumbies.

But Brumbies backs coach Stephen Larkham scotched suggestions that the conference-leading franchise was in the market for the Wallabies utility back.

"There's no truth in that at all. We're not talking to him," Larkham said.

While O'Connor has had his share of off-field issues over the years, Larkham said that didn't factor into the thinking about not pursuing him. Instead he said it was simply a case of the Brumbies having enough firepower in key backline positions.

Coach Jake White must decide how to make best use of Matt Toomua, Christian Lealiifano, Pat McCabe and Jesse Mogg.

Toomua and Lealiifano have built a first-class combination at fly half and inside centre, winning five of the six games they've played together. Wallabies inside centre McCabe returned from six months out with a neck injury last Friday against Southern Kings.

“Everyone knows whether it’s rugby, politics or whatever, front-rowers should rule the world, so to have a hooker at the helm makes sense,” Nathan Charles Western Force & Wallabies Hooker.

My care factor is zero. I stand by what I believe - as I always do. There is nothing more to discuss as far as I'm concerned.
