Australia captain James Horwill has been cited for an alleged stamp on British and Irish Lions lock Alun Wyn Jones in Brisbane.
Horwill now faces a disciplinary hearing to be held on Sunday in Melbourne, where the Wallabies will look to level the three-Test series against the Lions next Saturday.
The Reds second row has been cited under Law 10.4 b of the IRB's disciplinary rules, for "stamping" or "trampling" on an opponent.
Losing their influential skipper would be a huge blow for Australia following the 23-21 defeat in the first Test.

Didn't look good. The Wallabies don't need a captain who behaves in that way. They need someone who can keep their powder dry for the good of the team. I've watched the game twice and didn't see any niggle in the lead up to the incident.
Saw Deans interviewed this arvo, he said it wasn't intentional and anyone who knows Horwill knows he hasn't got a bad bone in his body!?
mmmm, Hodgo may disagree!

Can't say I'm surprised; he has been practicing all season...
And cleared - available for Melb

Could be a good omen, we need that boof head !
Although good news for the Wallabies, it's still an appalling decision imo.
Proudly Western Australian; Proudly supporting Western Australian rugby
"after judicial officer Nigel Hampton found he accidentally stamped on a prone Alun Wyn Jones after being spun off balance in a ruck"
Yeah......right....ok.
He was looking directly at him and moved his boot into a position which unbalanced himself.
Unintentional?

Alan Wyn Jones should be cited for headbutting James Horwill's foot
*Those who are familiar with the 12th man should get it
