ISRAEL Folau is expected to re-sign with Australian rugby within a fortnight.
Following drawn out speculation that Folau could return to the NRL, supremely confident Waratahs coach Michael Cheika said an announcement would be made shortly.
"I think very soon, if it's going to be done, it's going to be done very soon," Cheika said, adding that Folau would have been clear on his future even before featuring in the historic Lions series which he described as the highlight of his career.
"He's enjoying himself in rugby and that series would definitely have given him great experience.
"I don't think it will be a clincher in any way, shape or form.
"I think his decision - in his head he has already done it - even before entering into that Test series.
"It's just a matter of us refining the details and the duration and what's going to happen and hopefully they will get finalised in the near future."
The Waratahs will be without Folau for this weekend's match against Queensland, although it is expected his hamstring will heal in the next fortnight and he will be available for the first Bledisloe Cup match on August 17.
NSW is sweating on the fitness of backrower Wycliff Palu, but will welcome the return of injured internationals Berrick Barnes and Sitaleki Timani.
Cheika said depsite not being able to qualify for the finals, his team had much to play for in their final game of 2013.
