Ecky. I've seen you at your worst as a referee, even the game where as assistant ref you were chatting on your phone during a grand final, and despite that, even at your worst, I would put you ahead of all of them ,except perhaps for Kellam, Cooper, Sherriff and Calverly.

And that's only when they're having an exceptionally good day.

That was not a mobile phone, but a comms handset to let me listen to the central ref in order to relieve the boredom of being in-goal judge (not AR) when the play was down the other end. I don't reckon you saw me chatting on it.

The relieving of boredom worked a treat, if you recall the brilliant positioning and report to Sir to disallow what seemed to have been a certain runaway try during that very match.
