Yesterday was the Semi Finals for the championship;
Major Semis
1st grade - Curtin 24 - 7 Arks
2nd grade - Curtin 5 - 10 Arks
3rd grade - Curtin v Bunbury (curtin won, cant remember score)
Minor Semis
1st grade - Rocky v Joondalup (rocky won in extra time)
2nd grade - Rocky v Joondalup
3rd grade - Kwinana v UWA
was a good day, with a lot of good rugby played, shame about some of the hospitality by mandurah clubhouse (wanted $130 dollars for the coaches to buy a carton for the changing room after the game!).
Looking forward to watching the ARKS - Rocky game next Saturday with a beer![]()
Not sure what the usual arrangements are these days, but I've held more than a couple of liquor licences for match days. It was a breach to sell a carton for consumption in the sheds. Usual thing was to bring your own in eskys. Then proceed to the bar after, where all the beers had to be opened before sale.
Unless you have a Takeaway licence you are not allowed to sell cartons. Also if they allowed each team on Saturday one carton at a carton price all opened.then they would lose a fair few dollars and at the end of the day it is a money raising event.
Also will you be allowing all teams to buy a carton at carton prices next week
if they said they couldn't sell a carton, that would have been fair enough, but no they were willing to sell just at $130. I am not sure how much it would usually cost but i'm sure its ever been that high and as far as i know it hasn't been an issue getting a carton before. I'm sure they could have sold it and still made a fair bit of money (they wouldn't have to sell at cost).
anyway, not a big deal. all in all a good day![]()
Was standing at the bar when guy asked for carton bar staff tried to explain that they could'nt and could only sell it at per stubbie price.guy gave him a mouth full told him how bad a club this was.
I'm not a and member but felt sorry for bar staff and thought manager or rep from team was at of line but like you said all in all good day of rugby.
$5-$6 for a stubble anywhere in Perth is a result!
Joondalup Brothers under 10 end of season bash last night at the arena $5 for a becks is a result in my book now a days.
May the FORCE be with you!
gotta have a cheap carton for the boys...
just not cricket!
