This year's Open House Perth event is going to be bigger than ever but we are desperately short of volunteers to help out over the two-day event.
If you can spare any time at all over the weekend of 2-3 November to come and help (and are free to attend a short pre-event training session on the afternoon of Sat 13 or Sun 14 October) that would be fantastic!
These links give you details of the event and how you can sign up to volunteer:

The Open House Perth event takes places this coming weekend and they are still short of volunteers, especially for the Saturday afternoon.
Sooooo, if you are free at all this weekend and would like to help out, the organisers would love to hear from you!
The details are in the links in my previous post above, or you can email the volunteer co-ordinator, Stephen Corns, at: scorns_volunteers@openhouseperth.net
It's going to be a fabulous weekend to enjoy the amazing buildings we have in our beautiful city of Perth!!
Thanks guys

Ive never attended, but all my Archy mates rave about it.
They have abandoned the booking system for this year's event Jargan, so just turn up. You may have to wait a bit though if there's a queue. Should be worth the wait though!

It is really great event! You get access to buildings that the public would never normally have access to, like the new BHP building!
And yes, it is a great showcase for architects and designers too - one of the reasons why the event was first started in London back in 1992 and is now copied around the world :-)
I can't praise the event enough!

"Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place and I don’t care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard ya hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done! Now if you know what you’re worth then go out and get what you’re worth. But ya gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain’t where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody! Cowards do that and that ain’t you! You’re better than that!" - Rocky Balboa

Bah, the one time my social calendar actually has something on it!!!
"Believe in the best, think your best, study your best, have a goal for your best, never be satisfied with less than your best, try your best, and in the long run things will turn out for the best."
My first response to that mentality in the classroom is to find a job that the kids will enjoy and ask for a volunteer.
Usually results in about five minutes of squirming until the nicest kid in the class can't stand it anymore and reluctantly puts his hand up only to find that I ask him to eat this ice cream that is melting all over my desk!
Everybody groans and I have volunteers for the rest of the year on the off chance that I might do it again.
C'mon the![]()
