Mitchell Johnson has cashed in on his blistering season with the ball by pocketing more than $1 million in today's IPL auction.
Johnson was snapped up by Kings XI Punjab for $1.15 million to play in the Twenty20 series on a day when some of the game's leading players filled their bank accounts.
Australian teammate David Warner was sold to the Sunrisers Hyderabad for $978,000 while former Test batsman and national T20 skipper George Bailey was a steal at $578,000. Bailey joins Johnson at the Kings XI.
Retired WA batsman Mike Hussey continues to add to his cricket earnings with a $880,000 hand out from Mumbai Indians.
Current Warrior Shaun Marsh made $390,000 after he was chosen by Kings XI. Fellow Australian Test batsman Steve Smith moves to Rajasthan Royals for $710,000.
Indian Yuvraj Singh has collected the biggest cheque so far with $2.5 million to line-up with Royal Challenges Bangalore and former England Test batsman Kevin Pietersen was retained by Delhi Daredevils for $1.6 million.
The Daredevils also won a bidding war to recruit Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik for $2.2 million.

Rajasthan Royals bid $425,000 for veteran Brad Hodge.
BBL power-hitter Aaron Finch is off the Sunrisers for $712,000.
Amit Mishra will leave Delhi to play for Sunrisers after being bought for $844,000.
South Africa's Faf du Plessis heads to Chennai for $845,000.
Another Protea, JP Duminy, collected $391,000 from Delhi.
Mumbai pick left-arm paceman Zaheer Khan for $462,000.
Robin Uthappa got $888,000 from Kolkata.
Quinton de Kock was the first wicketkeeper signed (delhi) for $622,000.
Aussie keeper Matthew Wade, New Zealand's Ross Taylor, Sri Lankan Mahela Jayawardene were passed in.
