In 2004 we had people power at Subi oval with 6000 strong rugby folk on a 40 deg day the Raw Prawns made the trip from Mandurah joining our great fraternity to support the new Super 14. In 2014 we have let a Great Bloke go ,someone who stands for real Australian values and has entertained not only the Rugby Fans but people all over Australia and around the world with his Aussie Lingo.
Is it not time we have people power again and dig deep for a great man who promotes our great sport and it's values.
Let's start a collection and help him support his family and hopefully get The Badger back in front of The Sea of Blue and hopefully in the RWC.
Lets show True Blue support and see him Going off Like a Raw Prawn.
Has anyone get any ideas for setting up fund raising for a charity for something like this maybe someone at Bankwest?

I'd cough the equivalence of a night out, for sure. And with Perth prices, that fund'll fetch a feasible figure.
Count me in, a couple of weeks back I suddenly changed my plans to travel so I have some unexpected funds. Round about middle of the Brumbies game it was.
Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so.

Count me in too! I didn't buy anything "new" for the Awards Night! I knew at least some of the saved funds would come in for something important! .c'mon sea of blue let's get behind OUR Honey Badger!

I'm up for what ever. This is the sort of thing that makes us stand out as the best supporters in Aus!
Great game, Fucken battled right through to the 80!
What are you planning - a collection or some sort of sponsored event?

I dont want to knock this idea - I think its fantastic and I am in too.
However - lets just take a moment to think about the family that this charity fund raising is for.
We are talking about A Single Father and 8 kids. Do you really think that this family would want our charity? In my humble opinion I think that they would want to accept the money and then send it Cancer Research or Cystic Fibrosis Research. And the Honey Badger is still in Japan raising money to support his family. From watching this YouTube clip I think we are watching a very proud and strong family and they may not like the idea of taking charity.
Perhaps - before we do any raising and collecting of money. Lets see if we can find a way of contacting The Badger to see if he and his family will accept what we are wanting to do for them.

"Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place and I don’t care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard ya hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done! Now if you know what you’re worth then go out and get what you’re worth. But ya gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain’t where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody! Cowards do that and that ain’t you! You’re better than that!" - Rocky Balboa
Well Put Ex I agree with you...
I would like to show support too .. This would be a great send off to show the Honey Badger, we ( The Sea Of Blue ) appreciated his time here and Poss remind the Honey Badger that we will miss him.. Also when it is time to return to playing rugby in Australia again, The Western Force and the Sea of Blue would be first port of call.

Great to see that passion is still strong and alive in the Sea of Blue .
Thank you all for your feed back and support all taken on board. I will do some research next week and find a way forward with this.
