A person told me when they were at the recent wallabies test in perth(of which i couldnt make to ) that they could not get into any pubs wearing the green and gold as they didnt allow sports clothing as part of the dress policy??
Is this true as ive never had this problem ever on wallabies or force game days getting into pubs before and after games for a few beers. What happens when the eagle and dockers play at subi?
Tell me it isnt true??
Depends on the pub.
Some pubs have it to apparently prevent fights.
Other pubs are too big for their britches and have a dress code. Pretending they are silver service and forgetting that a pub is the traditional home away from home of the working man
Pretty much what Jono said.
Some may only allow sports jerseys/polos to be worn to certain time such as 9pm (I've experienced that myself) and others don't allow them to be worn at all.
It has happened to me after a force game in northbridge can't remember the bar (maybe that's why they wouldn't let me in) but something about no colours I.e. bikies and no sporting teams.
Generally speaking you aren’t learning much if your lips are moving!!!
The Old Bobby Dazzlers upstairs from Perth Underground allowed teamwear. When they renovated and , in their opinion went up-market and renamed La Boheme, they banned it..... Until they quickly realised how much money was walking past to the other pubs a little farther down Murray St.
"The main difference between playing League and Union is that now I get my hangovers on Monday instead of Sunday - Tom David
Yeah, a lot of the old Bobby Dazzler's drinkers just went into the Moon & Sixpence, which is all owned by the same people. I've got friends* who won't go into the Moon now because "it's a rough pub". I think they mean that there are people sitting outside wearing flouro work shirts.
* Well, they used to be friends.
Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
I refuse to go to La Boheme because they charge $11 for a schooner![]()
Vote with your feet and wallets! They will soon come round! 'To avoid fights!!!' .....this is Rugby played by gentlemen and supported by same...& gentlewomen!!
Doesn't surprise me. You have to remember this is the town that won't let you stand up and dance at a concert!
May the FORCE be with you!
Lions tour last year in Melbourne, refused entry with 4 others (wearing assorted rugby gear) into a SPORTS BAR! Conversation with the bouncers led to understanding that people in "colours" attract attention that can lead to fights, ie, sledging + alcohol = big fights. A sports bar refusing entry to a group of sports fans..makes perfect sense.
