PERTH SPIRIT MEDIA RELEASE
Friday, 24 October 2014
The Perth Spirit is preparing for their semi-final clash with the Melbourne Rising this Saturday, 25 October in the inaugural Buildcorp National Rugby Championship (NRC).
Last time they met in Round Four, the Rising took the spoils, 44-24, and the Spirit will be out to break the Melbourne side’s unbeaten run.
There has been three changes made to the Spirit’s forward pack with the injection of the Western Force’s Pek Cowan, Sam Wykes and Brynard Stander into the front, second and back-row respectively.
In the backs, Ian Prior and Zack Holmes renew their halves combination while Marcel Brache and Luke Morahan come onto the wings. Solomoni Rasolea joins Ammon Matuauto in the centres and Dane Haylett-Petty has been named at fullback.
The Rising has made just two changes to their starting side with flanker OJ Noa making his debut and Rebels centre Sefanaia Naivalu returning from a hand injury to take on the outside centre role.
The match will be broadcast live on Fox Sports 3 and 3HD with coverage commencing from 12.30pm (AWST).

Cruze Ah-Nau hasn't really kicked on as I thought he would.
Wests Scarborough 1st Grade juggernaut has played finals rugby each and every year since its inception and continues this remarkable feat yet again this season and unbelievably it's still rolling on and as an added little circle jerk for the masses Wests actually hold the record for the current longest unbroken finals record.
Hedger from Rising States that Perth don't move the ball around much, like to recycle and hang on to the ball for long periods of time... It will be low scoring game............what Spirit games has he been watching?
Good first half from the boys.
Scrum getting a bit of a touch up though.
Great Defense from the spirit They playing mature rugby
