Unless you have been living under a rock for the past few years you should all be aware that the wallabies major weakness is at scrum and lineout. The bulk of the responsibility for these two areas falls on the tight 5 (that is #'s 1-5 for the uninitiated). There usually isn't a great deal of debate over who should fill these positions (most people get distracted by shuffling the deck chairs in the backs) which is strange as without a competitive forward pack the best backs in the world won't help you that much.
Rather than begin by looking at players eligible for the wallabies, I thought it might be informative to investigate who might be picked in the tight 5 for a world XV (so that we might have a benchmark to aim at for wallabies discussions).
So, what players are deserving of a spot in a World XV tight 5?
Brodie Retallick as one of the locks is the first one to pop into my head.
Other suggestions??
